A Creative
Connector.
Linda Fernandez is a Cuban-American artist, educator, and founding member of Philadelphia's Amber Art and Design collective. Her practice spans painting, mural work, digital design on textile, and community-led artmaking across the U.S. and the Caribbean.
Bridging art, culture, and community.
Linda Fernandez is a Creative Connector who works at the intersection of culture, history, and community. As an artist, educator, and advocate, she fosters connections across diverse cultures through creativity — and her work transforms public space into a platform for storytelling and shared expression.
Her work is inspired by the ways that culture and history shape our identity — what it means to be part of the Cuban diaspora living in the U.S., and how this affects daily life. Her use of symbols and designs is part of an ancestral continuum that explains who we are and where we come from. She places special importance on elevating the African influence on Spain and the Caribbean, and on documenting the present moment in time.
Linda envisions art as a universal language — one that dismantles barriers and unites cultures in a harmonious celebration of shared experiences. Her portfolio captures cross-cultural dialogues across the diaspora, and her community-engagement work invites neighbors, schools, and entire neighborhoods into the creative process.
“I think of each design as a small altar — a way of placing my hand inside a continuum that began long before me. The art we see under our feet carries the influence of every person and place that passed through. My work adds my voice to that story.”
